We are looking for *female complex care support workers to support our client, a 15- year-old young man and his family living in his home.
You will work with the family and as part of a team, working closely with others concerned in the client’s care and therapy.
Your role is to ensure that the client’s wellbeing and safety is monitored throughout a shift and will involve moving and handling using a hoist, carrying out personal care tasks, managing the risk of aspiration, preparing and administering medication and nutrition (via a PEG tube) and giving tracheostomy suction when needed.
You will be carrying out therapeutic and fun play activities with the client and enabling access to social and leisure activities.
Full training, support and guidance will be provided.
Shifts available are during the day and waking nights.
You will need to be able to work flexibly and cover for illness/holiday of the other support workers
Essential Requirements:
- You will need to have experience of working with children, and to have worked with people with disabilities in a community or residential setting for at least 2 years.
- Gastronomy/ PEG Care experience
- Moving and Handling Experience
- Medication Administration experience
- Tracheostomy Care and Airway Management (suctioning)
- You will need to have a full and clean driving license.
- Must have a fun and outgoing personality and be confident in any Environment.
Desirable Requirements:
- An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is desirable otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate Training.
- Urdu Speaker would be a bonus
Working Hours:
Exact shift hours per week will be confirmed upon appointment
Daytime (including supporting home tutoring and therapeutic activities), and waking nights
Rates of Pay:
Monday-Sunday: £18.00 per hour
Waking Nights: £19.00 per hour
Bank Holidays: £20.00 per hour
